Conservation Award of Distinction

Recognizing the people and partners who go above and beyond for conservation in Canada

Ducks Unlimited Canada Conservation Award of Distinction
As Canada’s leading conservation organization, our strength comes from working with everyone who cares about the landscape to help deliver our mission. Some of our partners go above and beyond to ensure we make important progress. To celebrate their incredible commitment, Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) established the annual Conservation Award of Distinction.

The Ducks Unlimited Canada Conservation Award of Distinction recognizes individuals and companies that demonstrate outstanding leadership and support conservation actions that have resulted in significant, positive environmental impacts across the country.

The award celebrates those that introduce new ideas, push boundaries, and drive innovative solutions relations related to conservation. These influential partners are instrumental in the development and implementation of programs that help further DUC’s ability to deliver on our conservation priorities.

2024 Recipient, Individual Category: Tina Osen

As President of the leading insurance business HUB International Canada, Tina Osen oversees HUB’s operations in every province and territory that include all lines of insurance coverage and risk services. Thanks to her vision and support, she has united more than 16 property and casualty insurance companies (and growing) to establish The Nature Force partnership, an action-oriented climate resilience initiative.

As Ducks Unlimited Canada works to conserve and restore wetlands and to invest in natural infrastructure, through The Nature Force we are expanding our focus to the flood attenuation functions of Canada’s wetlands. We are advancing biodiversity potential and opportunities for carbon storage and climate resiliency.  The outstanding leadership Tina has demonstrated across the insurance sector are leading to significant, creative and positive environmental benefits, now and for the future.
